I own several titles that become unresponsive when focused. Previously, they operated smoothly, but now freezing occurs even when I switch to a secondary display or use the alt-tab. Hovering over menu items works normally, and frame rates remain stable. However, upon returning to the window, performance drops sharply, causing system instability. Repeated attempts have not resolved the issue.

I've tried updating drivers via AMD Adrenaline, checking DDU and AMD settings, installing drivers only, applying optional updates, running a clean boot, using sfc /scannow, DISM.exe, and performing a system restore. No improvement.

Game files appear intact, uninstalling or reinstalling affected titles hasn't helped. Steam doesn't provide details on required services for startup.

Could you help?

brand and model of the PSU?
temperatures and usage of CPU/GPU while playing?
memory and SSD usage?
how much space is occupied on the SSD?

EVGA super nova 1300w
~Temperatures were around 75°C for the GPU, usage was 30-50%
~CPU stayed at 70°C, about 20% when usage was high
I have minimal fan curves
Can provide precise readings if needed, but I don’t believe hardware stress is the main concern, since other demanding games still run well.
RAM around 9GB
SSD on C drive is approximately 40% full
One game SSD is about 70% full
Another game SSD is around 60% full

Yes that fixed it. How do I resolve that conflict?
I just tested my config. I have two monitors at my desk, and a third cable goes to my couch TV.
If I have only the desk monitors plugged in, no issue. It's the third output, which is usually off, that is causing the issue. Why a problem now? Been this way for years
🙄
