For a strange reason, lately every game I play experiences this odd problem where it suddenly drops to 1fps. Pressing the alt tab or the windows key usually restores normal performance, but when the window is out of focus, it instantly falls back to 1fps. Occasionally, after switching back, it works for a short time. It’s confusing because normally the game runs smoothly at full speed when the window is in focus, yet here it behaves differently. I opened Afterburner to check GPU and CPU activity, but they seem to stop entirely when the frame rate hits 1fps. I haven’t found any background programs causing this, nor have I managed to isolate the issue by using just one RAM stick. My system specs are i7 8700K, RTX 2080, 24GB DDR4 at 2400MHz. This was fine a few days ago. I took a break from my PC for a couple of days, turned it back on yesterday to play games, and now I’m facing this problem with Cyberpunk 2077 (GOG), Cold War (Blizzard), Man of Medan (PC Game Pass) and Forza Horizon 4 (Windows Store).

Have you attempted to reinstall or update your drivers already? That’s the initial step I’d take. If you haven’t done so yet, use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to remove all drivers and download a new one from Nvidia. https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/dis...nload.html
