I just completed the three most recent Tomb Raider titles (2013, Rise and Shadow) and now I have nothing to play. These were my first games in almost two years; my Steam library contains 100 games that I never play, and I’m unsure where to start. I enjoyed Titanfall 2, but it was the only first-person shooter I’ve liked before, and I’m really searching for a Tomb Raider-style experience. I know Uncharted looks promising, but I don’t have a PlayStation—only a PC. Looking online, other suggestions I’ve seen are Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, but both are too action-oriented and open-world with little story depth. Anyone have any recommendations, especially during the Steam Summer Sale?

I now possess numerous items and examined many similar ones, but none of them appear to match the tomb raider style cavity.

Among the 8 Tomb Raider elements, the ones that capture your attention most are: Action, Adventure, Atmosphere, Exploration, Open World, Puzzle, Stealth, and Story.

If you haven’t owned this or played it before, don’t miss it—purchase now and dive in. You might find yourself drawn into the series.

Portal
Portal 2
Brothers A Tale of Two Sons
Downward
Max The Curse of Brotherhood
Alan Wake
RiME
Shadow of Mordor + ALL DLC

The upgrade system has a modest learning curve, but you’ll adapt quickly. It isn’t as open-world as it initially appears.

Prototype
ENSLAVED Odyssey to the West Premium Edition
Another title that matches your taste. A compelling narrative with plenty of climbing sections.

Remember Me
Might be a hidden gem worth considering. Don’t overlook it.

Legend of Grimrock
The Long Dark
Remothered Tormented Fathers
Quantum Break
Far Cry Primal
It’s Far Cry for those who prefer something different from the usual Far Cry titles. A strong fit to fill the void left by Tomb Raider.

METAL GEAR SOLID V THE PHANTOM PAIN
Dying Light
Hellblade Senuas Sacrifice
I can’t resist recommending this if you haven’t already. The story and presentation are truly exceptional.

So most of these games i don't like, but you reminded me I meant to play Alan Wake, which looks pretty good. Far cry primal is on Xbox and didn’t really appeal to me—it felt more like ARK, though maybe that’s just me. I think I’ve realized that Uncharted and Tomb Raider are so different, so I’m wondering if it’s worth getting a used PS4 just for Uncharted?

Nope. The 20-30 fps feels too slow. Plus Uncharted is just not worth the price. If you're particular about one kind of game, you're really missing out. If you want a story, just watch some movies.

i’m not particular about one kind of game. I have over 100 on steam and around 50 on xbox, with roughly half of them being enjoyable. currently, i’m searching for a tomb raider-style title and can find a used ps4 plus all four uncharted games for about £150.

my gaming style tends to shift between different genres—i’ve played battlefield, cod, titanfall, but now i’m craving more tomb raider-like experiences. though i agree that four games might not justify a whole console, it still feels worthwhile for me.

I understand. This deal seems reasonable if it includes a minimum 1TB HDD on the PS4, isn't an older model, and comes with at least two controllers (which makes selling one for $40 simple). Horizon Zero Dawn is another title similar to Tomb Raider, and you can buy a copy for roughly $5 to $7. Additionally, you could get God of War and Spiderman. The only thing stopping me from taking advantage of this offer is the console itself.

Once you reach 85-144 fps, maintaining 20-30 fps becomes difficult. Most games fall into that range, but few run smoothly at 60 fps.

Another point is that after purchasing a console and playing through these exclusives within a month or two, the device becomes obsolete. My Xbox One S sits unused in my living room because I can't enjoy 20-30 fps on a 4K screen. It works for some titles but not many. With over 300 games on my collection, it's hard to justify keeping it.
