Hey there, I checked to see if anyone else discussed this, but it seems like a unique problem. Sorry if someone asked before. I own two MSI gaming monitors (G27C2), both connected via DP 1.2 cables (link provided). They’re running at 1080P with 144Hz. My PC specs are: Windows 11 Home 64-bit, Intel Core i7 8700K, stock RAM (16GB), Corsair Vengeance RAM (3200MHz), Zotac RTX 3060 ti, WD Black NVMe Corsair RM850x, 80+ Gold.

The issue is that when I launch a game—whether it’s a new install or one I’ve played before with graphics settings adjusted—I usually get a smooth boot in 1440p. Sometimes I pause to verify, other times I just let it run. Generally, my PC works fine, but FPS tends to drop, which makes me think about adjusting settings. I’ve confirmed the drivers are up to date and even checked via NVIDIA Control Panel, both set to 1080p/144Hz.

I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing. The monitors sometimes blink or flash (6-7 times) when they wake up—starting from a black screen, showing an image briefly, then repeating the blink pattern before settling back. It happens every time, and it seems unrelated to the cables I bought earlier this year.

Anyone have ideas on what might be causing this? Or is there a specific fix I should try? Thanks for your help!

It's unclear if it would influence such games, but scaling might be adjusted to around 125 or 150%.

It might be possible to adjust a GPU driver setting to render at 1440p resolution. This isn't confirmed yet, but it seems like a reasonable suggestion.
