Games keeps freezing unexpectedly during unknown actions.
Hello forums,
I shared something quite similar on win11’s community before, but after a restful night I believe I might receive more effective assistance here.
I recently assembled my new PC featuring a 14900kf processor on a z790 d5 motherboard. It runs the 4070ti graphics card. I performed numerous adjustments and still faced unexpected problems. Initially, everything worked fine when the system booted up. However, after replacing some premium power cables, swapping back to the original ones, re-seating the CPU, updating the BIOS, installing the latest motherboard drivers, updating the GPU driver to 551.61, I encountered crashes.
I attempted a clean GPU driver installation, ran a virus scan using antivirus and anti-rootkit tools, verified system file integrity, but skipped a memory test (memtest). Essentially, I followed all the steps I was familiar with.
Edit: I reset the CMOS, removed the GPU driver via DDU, rolled back to an older version, re-seated the RAM, and performed a Windows 11 repair upgrade.
Most of my games would crash—either at startup or during gameplay—and this often came with audio distortion. The crashes tended to reappear when I tried to reopen a game, sometimes triggering a BSOD with driver irql_not_less_or_equal.
Here’s the dump file from the last BSOD:

Could anyone assist me in troubleshooting this? Thank you in advance!
Update your post with complete hardware details and operating system information. PSU: make, model, wattage. Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity. Review the Reliability History first, then check Event Viewer for any error codes or warnings around crash times. Begin with the more user-friendly Reliability History. Following weeks of attempts to diagnose issues, a recent post ( highlighted a problem where high-end Intel CPUs (13th and 14th gen) are affecting Asus mobos, possibly other brands too. The suggested fix is to lower the CPU's clock speed or voltage. The problems I've faced include hardware failures, RAM errors, driver issues, and various error codes, all linked to unstable power consumption from the CPU. Hopefully this resolves the situation.
