When I launch a game, like, Rocket league, TF2, Smite, ect, the game will freeze for about 10-20 seconds not allowing me to alt-tab then it will come back and the game will be responsive again. I've checked my cpu/gpu usage while this was happening once, and on my task manager everything looked normal. I really don't have a clue, also I replaced my CPU, RAM, PSU, and motherboard (thanks amazon) with exactly the same parts around 6 months ago, but even before that when I had my old parts (really the same parts just brand newer now) , it would still freeze, I thought maybe getting the same parts would somehow fix it (though that's not why I got them replaced)
anyway if someone can help me, i've been dealing with this for months. I'll try anything i'm desperate.
thanks
Hey thanks for the reply, my games are installed on my hard drive which has 370 GB free space, also only my game is the one not responding, everything else is as smooth as butter
Here’s a rewritten version of the text, aiming for clarity and conciseness:
“My computer experiences random freezes during gameplay. These freezes occur approximately every 20-25 minutes, regardless of the game itself. The freezes aren't related to slow performance; instead, the system simply freezes momentarily before resuming normal operation.”
That’s a fascinating observation! It sounds like there might be something going on with your computer’s hardware – potentially related to how the processor is handling those brief freezes. External hard drives rarely cause such dramatic and consistent freezing issues unless they are experiencing severe data corruption or failing, which would explain the intermittent behavior you're describing.
Let's try a few things:
1. **Check for Overheating:** Ensure your computer’s cooling system (fans, heatsinks) is working properly. Overheating can cause freezes.
2. **Update Drivers:** Outdated graphics card drivers are a common culprit of freezing.
3. **Run Diagnostics:** Run a memory test to check for RAM errors and monitor the temperature.
If the problem persists, we'll need to investigate further, possibly involving a professional technician.
Okay I'm going to try to install TF2 on my SSD and see if it freezes, i'll get back to you.
Hey I installed yesterday, haven't frozen once. Looks like you where right. Thank you very much!
Edit: nevermind just got on, and it happened again. rip. hard drive doesnt seem to be the problem
