Games keep crashing ?
About a month ago, my games would crash after around 10 to 30 minutes of play. Recently, I’ve been playing hell let loose and cyberpunk, and I’ve played these titles for months without any problems. I also downloaded Elden Ring today and it crashed about five minutes in. I haven’t changed anything on my setup in the past month, which is puzzling.
I just finished a memory diagnosis and found no issues.
I ran an SSD integrity check too, and everything was fine.
I checked the game integrity settings in Steam as well, but still nothing wrong.
I have the latest graphics drivers and Windows updates installed.
This build has been stable for a few years without any problems.
With Cyberpunk and Elden Ring, it returns to Windows. With hell let loose, I get an error saying “Unreal Engine is exiting due to d3d device being lost.” But I always return to my home screen. My PSU fan is working. I also own a 2060 Super, so I hope my GPU isn’t failing. I installed a game from 1997 and it ran smoothly for a while, suggesting the issue might be with more demanding titles.
This is my first post on this forum, so I’m sorry if it’s in the wrong place.
Any advice would be appreciated.
I downloaded MSI Afterburner and performed a scan, here are the findings:
At 16:28:08 I connected to the MSI Afterburner control interface v2.3.
At 16:28:11 GPU1 showed the following values: VEN_10DE&DEV_1F47&SUBSYS_13AD10DE&REV_A1&BUS_8&DEV_0&FN_0.
At 16:28:11 I started scanning and waited a few minutes.
At 16:44:50 the scan completed successfully. Average core overclock reached 58MHz, memory overclock was 200MHz.
At 16:44:50 Dominant limiter was active.
Voltage readings were considered unstable.
The results have been exported to MSI Afterburner.
I think this suggests the issue might be with my PSU.
Review the temperatures of the CPU and GPU. The GPU managed to increase its speed by an average of 58MHz. I think it could be higher, but without knowing the temperatures we can't determine if it's the power supply unit. Examine the temperatures and voltages for the CPU, RAM, and GPU. We require much more details.
I enjoyed playing Hell Let Loose for around 20 minutes before it crashed. The average CPU temperature was between 32-34, and the GPU was around 39-41. The CPU, GPU, and RAM usage percentages looked normal. However, I’m unsure about checking the voltages for the CPU, RAM, and GPU.
The temperatures were shown in Celsius according to the NZXT CAM. While playing Hades and other games without problems, they would freeze when switching to Hell Let Loose or Elden Ring. I plan to replace the PSU soon, but I’ll wait until tomorrow to buy one because it’s Christmas. I’m currently using 1080p.
