I'm setting up a new PC and wondering which games would run smoothly with my current setup. My hardware includes an AMD Athlon II X4 640 at 3.00 GHz, GTX 650 with 8 GB RAM at 1866MHz, 64-bit Windows 7 or 8. I'm still figuring out the rest of the components. For example titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PayDay 2, Rust, Arma III, Skyrim, and possibly Reign of Kings. Let me know if you can help!

I’m aware that Arma 3 isn’t likely to perform well; few people enjoy it. CS:GO seems more stable, aiming for around 60 FPS. I won’t share my opinion on Payday or Rust since I can’t assess your setup. Please keep this in perspective—my experience is limited. Welcome to the discussions!

i share the same processor as you—just mine is boosted to 3.50ghz. payday 2 should run smoothly at least at 120fps with everything set to max arma 3. it could be tricky because the game is quite intense, and i haven’t played arma 3 in a while, so i’m not sure what exact fps you’ll see. your setup looks pretty close to mine (as you can tell from my profile). bf hardline 1680x1050 medium at 3.50ghz battlefield 4 high 1680x1050 world of tanks 1680x1050 high

Check customer feedback for your card—it usually contains all the important details you need. That’s what will help you understand any issues.

I can help determine the possible resolution for running CS:GO. What platform are you targeting—PC, mobile, or another device?

I believe 1080p or 1600 by 900 works well. @dtronicsuk seems to have set you up nicely. They might offer more support than I could. I trust their assessment; it looks like a better GPU option, especially if it isn't CPU limited. Didn't verify further.

Sure, I get it. You've got the CPU and you enjoy a variety of games, just wrapped up Borderlands as its third time around.
