My PC has been with me since 2018 and everything was functioning perfectly. At the end of last year, a friend gave me his old CPU and RAM. To make it work again, I upgraded my motherboard and case.
Since then, games have started to crash—not just new ones, but also those that ran smoothly before my upgrade. I’m not sure where to begin searching for a fix...
The PC still runs okay during light tasks and even in less demanding games. However, games like Apex Legends, GTA V (especially when rendering in-game scenes) or Satisfactory tend to crash after varying periods.
In particular with GTA V, I spent quite some time talking to someone from their support team, but none of their suggestions helped...
I checked HWInfo for temperatures and noticed they’re rising quite a bit. Another possibility is that my current PSU isn’t capable of handling the components under full load.

Which BIOS version is installed on the motherboard? You can verify this using CPU-z in the mainboard section.
Are you adjusting the CPU or GPU settings?
I think the power supply unit might be the issue. It's around six years old, isn't it?
I was reviewing CPU (Tdie) and GPU-Hotspot-Temp. I'm unsure which one to focus on, but they were around:

- Bios Version appears to be 4408 from 27.10.2022.
- I think none are overclocked, though I'm not completely sure...
Is there a way to verify they aren't overclocked?
- Yes, I double-checked and it was purchased in April 2017!
I didn’t do that because I wasn’t sure how to maintain my windows license.

Test the new installation. Observe the outcome. If problems persist, consider updating the BIOS. The outdated power supply might not deliver adequate wattage, leading to reduced performance.

I just did a fresh Windows install and tried it again, but got the same outcome. Then I installed the new BIOS, which also didn’t help.
I looked at some online resources about my power usage (like https://www.newegg.com/tools/power-supply-calculator/) and found quite different estimates. Some said around 500 to 599 W, others 351 W or even 435 W. I’m really confused now.
My next questions are:
- Could the in-game crashes be caused by the PSU being too weak?
- Is there a way to accurately measure the power consumption of all my components?
