I've been struggling to understand exactly what's going wrong with my PC lately. Whenever I play Middle Earth Shadow of War, I experience a hard screen freeze. The game halts on the screen while background music plays, but all character voices and sounds disappear. The only solution is pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del to log out and back in. This problem has occurred once before with Doom and once with Battlefield 4. It hasn't happened with Battlefield 1, even after hours of playtime with everything maxed out. I can switch to another program using Alt+Tab, which lets my window button respond. Then I can press Ctrl+Alt+Del to log off, close everything, and restart. My system monitors CPU, motherboard, RAM, GPU, and power supply temps. At most, the GPU stays around 70°C, while the CPU reads about 50°C. I ran a memory diagnostic on my RAM and updated all available drivers for all components.
