high fps but game still feels choppy or laggy
i have a 3070ti and an i9 1100 32 g ram
240 hz monitor
for some reason, whenever i play apex with or without vsync it always feels choppy
changing the frame rate doesn’t improve the issue
i tried to match the fps to what my system can handle, but it still feels unstable
i expected better performance given my specs
please help

Try some simple optimizations first, as this one suits what I usually do.

Follow each step he takes in the Nvidia control panel closely—this is crucial.
Ensure Multicore Rendering is active in any game you play; otherwise, it uses only one core.
Obtain the latest NVIDIA driver from their site.
Check that your motherboard BIOS and drivers are current. I’ve heard rumors that an incorrect audio driver can lead to lag. Updating the board can be risky—don’t touch the computer until the update finishes, or you risk damaging it. Do your research.
Using the Steam browser during gameplay can significantly hurt performance, based on my experience.
A poor power supply may also cause instability in gaming. You didn’t mention it.
Running an 11900 on a budget H510 or B560 board with inadequate VRM can also create problems. The 11th generation lineup struggled with VRM capacity even for an i5 11400; the video shows this well. The 11900 generates a lot of heat—make sure you have proper cooling. Have you checked the temperatures? Are they throttling? Which cooler are you using?

If previous suggestions don't work, check your Windows power settings to ensure they're set to High Performance. Other options might restrict or alter the power usage of your hardware, which could lead to performance issues even if frame rates seem steady.
