I own multiple systems and have a gaming PC (XBOX, WiiU) along with a few consoles. It feels like I haven't tried anything fresh or engaging in a while—maybe since last summer break. Battlefield came across as really underwhelming; it was entertaining for the first few days but quickly became monotonous. The gunplay feels repetitive, with only four maps and no solid customization options. Black Ops 3 was decent for a COD title, but it lacked depth and wouldn't keep me invested for months. Fallout 4 started off exciting, yet the repetitive factory/metro missions and predictable plot turns ruined immersion. The linear structure stripped away the freedom of choice that made previous Fallout experiences enjoyable. Plus, the game is so straightforward it diminishes the fun of the earlier titles. I’m also noticing a gap in quality AAA releases since at least the release of Witcher 3. Any suggestions for fresh, engaging games would be appreciated? MMOs are okay if they’re solid and not just imitations, and I’d prefer titles without an Asian theme. Single-player options are fine, but a solid multiplayer experience would be nice. Appreciate your advice!
I suggest checking out Final Fantasy XIV, though it leans heavily on Asian themes. I’ve tried other MMOs like WoW, SWTOR, ESO, and GW2, but FFXIV stands out for its deep story, tough crafting/gathering, and overall vibe. It’s the only game I’ve been playing lately, just like you. The new features are fresh, but there’s nothing entirely new to explore. I’ve probably spent 6 to 8 hours on my XBO over the past nine months.
Wow, great choice! You've picked up a few titles this year—GTA V is your current pick, and the one before that was Tomb Raider 2013. I’m super selective about what I play, and most mainstream games don’t really appeal to me. I’m excited for Rise of Tomb Raider and any updates on Ashes of the Singularity. The past couple of years have been pretty quiet in terms of new releases, with only a few Spider-Man games, some GTA titles, Prototype, and Tony Hawks. I don’t even remember many games from the last decade.
I've already completed Rise of Tomb Raider a while back (probably bought it in November).
I understand your point. Fallout 4 wasn’t quite up to the mark, but I appreciate the effort. You’re now in charge of the Minute Men, and I’ll keep assigning tasks. I haven’t played Witcher 3 yet; the first two titles are my top choices, though I’m having trouble starting the first one. Right now, Mafia 3 is the only game I’m excited about—it’s not even released yet. To pass the time, I’ve been playing Dungeon Keeper 2, which feels like a nostalgic throwback from around 1999.
