You're wondering if your PC setup is working well with your current hardware. It seems you're using an R9 3900X and a 2060 Super, and you're experiencing performance issues in certain games. While others on your friend's machine see smooth 60fps, you're noticing it feels lower on yours. You mentioned wanting to play at 60fps without noticeable lag, but it's affecting your gaming experience. Consider checking your monitor settings, ensuring it's calibrated properly, and looking into potential driver updates or hardware upgrades if needed. Let me know if you'd like more tips!

There will be games where one can enjoy 40 frames per second on a 2060, so which titles are worth watching matters. It could be that your friend is achieving even higher performance by locking to 60 fps while you're using some kind of sync effect, causing them to move more rapidly. Consider setting a frame cap somewhere.

I have tried to limit the frames. And I'm gonna be honest, my 2060 super has pushed me to 140 frames constantly in warzone so, I don't see the hate on it. He's not frame locked, but his game averages 60 and it seems smooth, where my 60 seems choppy. That's the issue here. I'm just not sure if I'm missing something here.

It's a widely used graphics card. Certain titles are simply too demanding for it, like Warzone. I’m considering FlightSim instead—it won’t maintain 60 frames per second for most users, or perhaps some high-end RPGs. They often require powerful configurations. The gap between your system and his hardware, plus the settings in use, could be the key factor. For example, if he’s using a 60Hz monitor, the display will only show one frame every 1/60th of a second, no matter what level it runs at.

His display runs at 144Hz, that’s what triggered this inquiry.
