Showdown, the game would suddenly crash during gameplay. Initially, I assumed it was Hunt itself, but later Discord restarts, Steam outages, and more frequent Hunt crashes emerged. Around a week ago, I started testing 3DMark (Steam demo only). It often stops without warning, then resumes with GPU tests passing but CPU tests failing. My system specs are: i7-13700K, no overclocking. Motherboard: ASUS Z690-E, SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, Corsair Vengeance 64GB (2x32) at 5600MHz. GPU: MSI RTX 3080. All components were purchased in December 2022 except the 850W power supply, which I bought recently after my previous one aged and was used on carpet.

I've tried several fixes: old GTX 1080 caused the same issues; single RAM stick also failed; performed memtest twice with no errors; reset Windows briefly but problems returned; updated drivers via DDU; removed Armoury Crate (installed via BIOS); changed BIOS to PCIE Gen 3 mode. I’m new to this forum, so I’m unsure what else might help. I’ve been working on it for two weeks without stable gaming, so I’m willing to try anything to resolve this. The suggestion to replace the PC is an option, but I prefer maintaining my current build instead of discarding it.

Cooler is a Thermaltake UX200 SE 5V model. I'm not sure about the temperatures, so maybe adding a monitor would help if you think the cooler can't handle the CPU. I just got it after swapping an older liquid cooler that didn't fit my new motherboard—it was a budget option. The BIOS was updated about a week ago to the latest version. Samsung Magician says the SSD is running on the newest firmware.

The 13700k offers strong performance, while the Thermaltake UX200 SE 5V provides compact cooling. Monitor your temps and share updates.

The cooler seems insufficient for that powerful CPU. Check OpenHardwareMonitor, HWInfo64, or HWMonitor to track temps. For CPU stress testing, try OCCT, Prime95, or Aida64. MSI Kombustor, Furmark, Unigine Heaven, and OCCT GPU are available for the GPU.

Checked the CPU temperatures on an Intel XTU board, reaching up to 100°C and causing thermal throttling before failure. Planning to visit Best Buy for a more powerful cooler; will report back later on whether it resolves the issue.

Yes, that works perfectly. Make sure they offer a Peerless Assassin SE 120; it’s great. A robust dual-tower setup will suffice—just verify your case’s CPU cooler height matches.

I searched for it but they didn't have it available. I also didn't want to wait for Amazon shipping, so I ordered a Corsair H150I Elite AOI. I began this project with water cooling, which now feels like a return to the start. The case is a bit outdated and only supports small radiators, but temperatures are stable around 60 during benchmarks and rise to 85 during CPU tests without any crashes. It looks like my issue is resolved!

Ayoo thats fantastic news! Wohooo! A small tip for AIO. Set the pump speed to a constant speed of something that is not audible or annoying, around 65-75% is my guess. Its better for the pump to run a bit faster at a constant speed than fluctuating constantly, less wear on the pump . Same with a car engine, if you full throttle then brake then full throttle again all the time, that will wear the engine out a lot faster than cruising at 60mph on the highway. Happy gaming bud!
