Gameplay issues in GTA V
I believe the toughest titles I played were FarCry4 and BF4. I had to make some adjustments, but those games worked just fine. The screen would freeze, acting like a frozen picture, and I noticed some distortion sounds coming from my headphones (probably stuck on the audio it played when the game crashed). I saw the static for around ten seconds then a blue screen with Win10 error and a sad smiley face. I don’t recall any other games crashing in this way before.
Driver crash might be occurring. I own a 290x that behaves similarly—it functions smoothly with minimal to no strain, yet a few minutes post-booting anything demanding (or prolonged non-intensive tasks like watching browser videos after 4 or 5 hours) the card fails unexpectedly. Without this happening across other games, it’s not promising.
It seems like you're considering whether the recent GPU driver update might be related to the problem. Let me know if you'd like help troubleshooting further!
Well if it's a physical problem with the GPU it could but is unlikely. The overclock also could be as mentioned above. You should confirm by running heaven on a loop for a good while (1 hour or so) and see what happens.
I reduced the clock speed to 4.0 from 4.2. I plan to play the game for some time and keep an eye on CPU and GPU temperatures. If the problem persists, I’ll restart and try again...
