Gameplay issues in GTA V
Anyone got this sort of issue, and managed to fix it? Also, what kind of settings should I use for 1080p with a GTX 970, i5-4690k and 8GB RAM?

07-24-2016, 08:43 AM #1So I bought GTA V from steam, because summer sales, you know. The problem is, the game keeps crashing every 15 mins or so, and not simply "to-the-desktop" kinda crashing, my whole system shuts down, which makes it a little...unplayable I'd say. I google'd it up, no useful fixes found yet.. Anyone got this sort of issue, and managed to fix it? Also, what kind of settings should I use for 1080p with a GTX 970, i5-4690k and 8GB RAM?

07-24-2016, 09:34 PM #3With this equipment, you can easily reach maximum performance at 1080p. Since your whole system shuts down, it likely points to a power supply unit issue—what is its capacity?

07-24-2016, 10:25 PM #4I've upgraded the CPU and GPU, but both faced issues after a long stress test—no failures so far. The PSU is a Corsair CX750m rated for 80+ bronze. I'm considering reducing MSAA to improve stability. The power supply is 750W.

07-25-2016, 03:36 AM #5I've played several intense games recently—like GTA 5, Just Cause 3, Crisis 3, and other top-tier triple-A titles. If you haven't, it might point to a GPU issue. Make sure the fans are spinning fast; GTA 5 is really demanding. Also check if your power supply isn’t delivering enough to the GPU. On that card with medium-high settings, aim for console-level graphics running at 60 fps. It’s not perfect, but it’s manageable on an older board. Try lowering everything to the lowest setting and see if it improves. Watch the GPU temperatures closely—if they stay above 70°C or drop sharply while under load, it could signal overheating. Let me know what you notice!

08-20-2016, 09:45 PM #9I faced the same issue; it turned out the OC wasn't sufficient for GTA V even though it worked for 24 hours on AIDA64. Just lower the OC by 0.1Ghz.
