Hey everyone, I'm facing a really frustrating problem in Assassins Creed Odyssey. At certain moments (around 1.8 seconds, see the attached performance chart), the game freezes completely and then restarts normally. This causes a jarring experience where the camera suddenly skips frames and jumps abruptly. After those dips, everything works again until a few seconds later, making it feel like a major glitch. I’m sure the game isn’t running smoothly, but this seems different from typical stuttering. Even though it worked well for me for about 200 hours on my machine before, I haven’t seen this issue now. I’ve tried various fixes—updated drivers, changed graphics settings, reinstalled the game—but nothing helps. It also doesn’t happen in other games. My system specs are: CPU 5600X, GPU GTX 1060 6GB (stock), RAM Corsair Vengeance 32GB 3200MHz, display Dell U2518D at 2560x1440, SSD Samsung 970 Evo, OS Samsung 850 Evo. I’ve checked recommended settings from forums, but nothing changes the behavior. It’s really annoying and makes me think something is seriously wrong. If anyone has a clue, I’d love to get back to playing!

This was a solid concept, I hadn't explored it before. Unfortunately, it didn't work out as planned—same results again.

Did you adjust any Windows gaming configurations such as hardware acceleration for the GPU? Were you modifying Power Settings? Did you review the Task Manager to identify applications consuming CPU resources?

This game only works in this one title, not across all titles. Earlier there were some comparable problems after adjusting my Windows power plan. Specifically, the Link State Power Management setting for PCI Express in the advanced power plan was left active instead of being turned off.
