To maximize your computer's performance, check out screenshots of all the ThrottleStop windows. FIVR, TPL, Options, and Limit reasons explain why your system experiences constant power limits. HP intentionally implements this feature. When the GPU is running, the CPU is throttled to keep power usage and temperatures manageable. ThrottleStop can assist but requires proper configuration. If it oscillates, it’s likely ThrottleStop is battling HP for control of your CPU speed. A few tweaks might help it succeed—great news!

Sure! To configure Throttlestop so it can take precedence over HP, you'll need to adjust its settings accordingly. Check the documentation for specific steps related to overriding control parameters. Make sure to review the screenshots again for clarity. Let me know if you need further help!

Unfortunately, this situation is unlikely to succeed. HP typically enforces power restrictions that aren't adjustable. You might want to attempt a few adjustments using ThrottleStop: remove the Disable Power Limit Control box and verify both lock settings. Once confirmed, try playing again. Enable the Log File option so I can observe any changes. Your 10210U has a 15W TDP rating. When the GPU is running, HP limits the CPU to 8W, which greatly impacts performance. If this were a brand-new laptop, I’d return it to the store and request a replacement. An auto maker wouldn’t reduce horsepower like this. It seems manufacturers often overlook these details, leaving consumers unaware. Edit – skip using the Stop Data feature during tests. Your CPU voltages remain unlocked, allowing you to experiment with a -50 mV undervolt for both core and cache. Most 10th Gen CPUs handle that setting well. If done correctly, the adjustment will appear in the FIVR monitoring table under the Offset column. You’ll need to undervolt both the core and cache. When capturing screenshots, hold down Windows key and Shift while pressing S. No need to share your entire desktop.

Definitely a thermal issue but unfortunately I don't think you can do anything about it

It's not related to temperature issues. The problem stems from power restrictions imposed by manufacturers. Many laptops face this when a maker sets a reduced power cap. HP is turning off Intel Turbo Boost and lowering the CPU output to 8W rather than its standard 15W TDP, especially when the Nvidia graphics card is running.

Adjusting your CPU voltages affects the offset. CPU Core Voltage, CPU Cache Voltage, and Power limits.

Did you verify the lock boxes in the Turbo Power Limits window I mentioned? Your screenshot doesn’t indicate this has been updated. The -50 mV undervolt appears accurate. The FIVR monitoring table should display a -0.0508 value in the Offset column for both the core and cache. Your log file still records power limit throttling down to as low as 8W. If you’ve confirmed the lock boxes, it seems you’re not in the right position. HP wins and you lose.

You followed the instructions provided, but you're having trouble with the power limit control. To secure the limit, ensure you've unchecked the option to disable it before locking the control. If you need further clarification, let me know.

Your device can handle higher power because it's designed for efficiency and scalability. The increase in TDP reflects improved thermal management or performance, not a change in power limits. At 3.8 GHz, the system optimizes operation while maintaining safety and stability.
