I'm enjoying a refreshed edition of GTA 5, but my FPS dropped significantly from a consistent 30 to 10-20 even when I stick to the lowest settings. I explored my graphics options and did some research. I realized the game requires roughly 2GB of VRAM out of 1GB, which seems odd given my setup—an AMD Radeon R5 M430 with 2GB RAM. At 1080p with all settings off or normal, it still works fine. However, some players manage 1080p with high-VRAM usage like shadows and textures while only needing around 1850MB of VRAM. My system includes a Lenovo IdeaPad 500 15" with an AMD A10 8700P 4-core CPU running at 2.3GHz (about 60% utilization), an AMD Radeon R5 M430 2GB dedicated GPU (core clock 1100MHz, memory 1000MHz), 8GB DDR3 RAM, and a 5400RPM 1TB SSD.
