I've been enjoying Just Cause 2 lately and discovered its performance varies depending on the system. On average, you can hit over 150 frames per second with an R9 290. However, GTA IV, being an older title, demands significantly more power, usually delivering around 60-70 fps with the same GPU.

GTA IV had many issues, which likely caused its performance problems. The developers didn't transfer the game correctly.

GTA IV had a terrible translation, similar to Watch Dogs.

It’s a mediocre experience at best, though it could be considered decent. The controls, options, and visuals were excellent, but texture loading had problems. Comparing it to GTA IV is unfair, as one of the poorest ports in recent gaming history.

GTA4 was merely a weak translation at best, whereas WDs performance was more stable. I’ve managed 100fps in GTA4 with WDs, but seeing 40 would be a lucky occurrence.

Notice, my setup runs smoothly in watch mode during the mid-40s, but in GTA it feels like it's stuck at about 30 frames per second while driving.

It's possible I reached my 40s in WD, but it was far from what I expected in GTA4.

It's unlikely to achieve 100 FPS in GTA IV with the maximum draw settings unless hyperthreading significantly improves performance.

If it worked when installed, I'd be thrilled to show you! It wasn't consistent, but it did happen sometimes.
