You're exploring ways to use an Xbox One controller on Windows 10 for tasks like mouse control or launching apps. It seems you're looking for alternatives to Steam's big screen mode, especially since that doesn't seem to work for your needs. Consider checking if third-party tools or custom scripts can bridge the controller input with your OS, or explore alternative gaming setups that support direct controller use.

I understand what I’m dealing with and learned the hard way. There are Xbox Controller drivers already installed. It might not work with One, but it does function on 360. You’ll also need Steam, which shouldn’t be an issue. The cost is reasonable, so give it a shot—if you don’t like it, request a refund.

You can use your native Xbox One controller, though it won’t manage the operating system. Options include a Logitech K400 or similar devices, or a third-party app that lets you control the OS.
