I've been using GTA V and usually see around 60-70 FPS, but sometimes it drops to 40 or less when switching locations or pressing Esc. I have a GTX 980 with an i5 4670K, 16GB DDR3 RAM, and the clock speeds are fine. Are there any settings or adjustments that could help improve performance?

No problem, I understand. Do you have a lot of background processes running that use up your memory during gameplay?

Ignore the details about the settings; just focus on what they do.

You have 8GB of RAM with only a few GB left, and your CPU is running at full capacity.
