Game starts lagging after about 20 seconds of play.
To better describe the situation, the game runs smoothly without stuttering. The frames per second are high and consistent, with a noticeable variation in frame timing that makes it seem as though the game is speeding up and slowing down frequently. There are occasional spikes in input lag, with inputs appearing after a delay of more than a second, even though the FPS remains strong. The overall experience is unsettling and uncomfortable in gameplay. Neither the GPU nor the CPU reaches excessive temperatures, and their speeds appear stable. This issue has never occurred to me before, so I’m seeking advice from others who might understand. The system specifications are a Ryzen 5 3600X with stock frequencies, 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3600MHz, an RX5700 X 3600 chipset.
Verify driver update. Install Hwinfo or Hwmonitor and examine maximum temperature underload (don't scroll away). It seems overheating is caused by outdated paste or insufficient RAM, forcing it to use the pagefile instead. Perform a disk cleanup (Microsoft's PC Manager is easiest) and consider running SFC/Scannow to resolve the problem.
Neither sounds too hot indeed, but you should also check clock frequency and utilization. As the system sounds like been bottlenecked at somewhere causeing everything to throttle back/waiting for data. Keep an eye on your SSD too see if it gets stuck at 100% utilization (use crystaldiskinfo and check if any "OE" is reported)
The GPU driver update appears to resolve the problem. I'll check again if any issues develop.
