Hello, your PC setup includes an AMD FX-8350 at 4.3 GHz, an MSI R9 290X OC Edition with 8GB DDR3 RAM, Corsair 650M memory, and a WD 1TB SSD. Your problem is that in GTA V you can only run the game on the lowest settings and even then the FPS stays below 20. This seems unusual for your configuration. Please share any tips or adjustments you've tried.

Well, the issue isn't with your graphics card. Although I usually prefer AMD CPUs, the 8350 appears to be functioning well. Your setup looks strong overall, making it tricky to pinpoint the problem. Are all parts working correctly? Have you installed the latest drivers? What are your CPU and GPU temperatures?

Current drivers are set for GTA V Beta only; everything else is up to date. I’m also experiencing issues with other titles, but they’re limited to specific games. For example, Batman (all Arkham series) and Dead Space don’t work, while Talos Principle seems fine.

It seems the issue might be related to thermal throttling. Could you share the board model you're using?

Turn off cool, quiet, and EPU settings; the game sometimes skips starting and the CPU enters idle mode at 1.4GHz before returning to normal. This might be the issue. The latest beta driver could help, though I haven’t tried it yet. Disabling CNQ helped me. It seems FX8 performs better than Intel quad in this case—my FX8 version is 4670k.

I don't have real-time monitoring access, so I can't provide current CPU and GPU usage during playback. You can check this in your system's performance monitor or within the application itself.

I'd suggest restoring Windows and updating, then try FutureMark to check performance. I'm aiming for around 60 FPS on average, almost maxed out with Graphix. The issue seems linked to MSAA, soft shadows, high shadow textures, and VSync due to the monitor's limitations. Everything else is fine except my setup—my machine has a 9590 and a cheaper model, both with default settings.

Hi, just wanted to wrap this up by mentioning that Rockstar eventually reached out and explained I needed to adjust a setting in the game's .ini files. They provided clear directions, which helped despite the game being unusable for a while. Appreciate your support and advice!
