Recently played most 3D games experienced stutters, FPS drops, and brief freezes. These issues started with my old hardware—Asus Prime Z490-A, Intel i7 10700KF, and 32GB DDR4 RAM. I initially blamed the CPU but upgraded it. After a week, problems returned within two to three weeks.
Specs: MOBO MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WIFI CPU AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D GPU NVIDIA RTX 3080 RAM CORSAIR VENGEANCE 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz DDR5. Played on a 3440x1440 ultra wide monitor.
Troubleshooting steps: Formatted M.2 SSD, installed fresh Windows 11, removed GPU driver via DDU, reinstalled BIOS on MSI MAG board, tried XMP settings, adjusted graphics intensity, checked temperatures and usage. Everything seems normal—CPU temps 77-78°C, GPU 73-75°C. Ran SMART tests on all drives, all passed. Updated motherboard drivers.
Possible causes: GPU malfunction or failing SSD? I’m stuck and need more guidance.
