Hey, when I play Rainbow Six Siege I experience some micro stutters. This PC was a new upgrade from my previous one. I also upgraded the monitor to 280Hz after overclocking. The stuttering isn’t limited to the game—it happens even in the lobby when switching tabs, like from play to operators. I tested this setup on Valorant too, but there were no issues there. On Valorant, the AMD monitoring overlay shows no stutters and everything runs perfectly. I’m just trying to fix this problem because it’s frustrating and ruins the experience. The CPU is a Ryzen 7 5800X, motherboard is Asus Prime B550 M-A, RAM is 32GB DDR4 at 3200MHz, GPU is Radeon RX 6750 XT with 12GB VRAM, storage includes a hard drive and SSD, power supply is an MSI 650W 80 Bronze. I’ve tried framecap and enabled freeSync. Also, I reset Windows once.

Is the previous storage device being used? Is it single or dual channel? Are the games stored on an SSD? Are the drivers and operating system current? Have you attempted to reinstall the GPU drivers using DDU?

My dual-channel RAM is installed in slots 2 and 4. All drivers are current. You haven’t attempted reinstalling GPU drivers via DDU yet. How would you like to proceed?

He arranged the PC setup using the provided instructions. Follow the guide for uninstalling the display driver, and you can bypass booting to safe mode. Choose the GPU device and AMD settings, then clean and restart. Wait for the system to restart before installing the drivers.

I completely wiped the system yesterday and just reinstalled the graphics drivers using ddu. I'm planning to run a test now to see if it resolves the issue.

I rechecked both Valorant and R6 using only the games I currently own. In R6, I consistently see those micro stutters with frame times around 3.2 ms, increasing whenever a micro stutter occurs. Valorant, however, maintains a steady frame time of about 2 ms or slightly lower, usually staying at 0% or 0.2% micro stutter (I think that’s typical and not noticeable). Valorant runs smoothly. I’m puzzled because it seems like R6 should be affected more, but something doesn’t add up. I also want to note that neither game has any settings enabled for AMD Adrenaline.

I just discovered that the dx12 used by the Raibow Six is set up to give solid FPS but suffers from significant frame time and frequent micro stuttering. I went straight to Steam and tried the Siege-Properties-Select lunch options—Rainbow Six Siege Dx11—and immediately noticed a big improvement. No more stuttering, just smooth gameplay. My test session lasted about three minutes and I achieved around 200 FPS, which was much better than before. I’m going to dig deeper into the dx12 and dx11 configurations. It’s surprising how close this fix came after all my testing. If you have a high-end PC and think there’s nothing wrong with it, maybe it’s just the game itself.
