Game plays constantly after a shaky overclock fails.
I really need assistance since I've tried all possible solutions.
My setup is an EVGA 2060 Super.
I experimented with overclocking settings, increasing by 10 increments each time. I ran the benchmark for Rainbow Six Siege with +1100MHz memory boost and +120MHz GPU boost. The game stayed stable at +1000MHz memory and +110 MHz GPU.
However, after testing, my computer became unresponsive, freezing for a while before showing a blue screen about two minutes later. Siege wouldn't open at all. I reinstalled the game completely, checked files, ran as administrator and compatibility mode, and reinstalled drivers—still nothing worked. Other games functioned normally, but only Siege is currently broken.
I also tried another SSD version of the game, but it still crashed. I reset the overclock to normal, so the GPU isn't overclocked anymore. It seems Windows has blocked the game from running. All other applications are working perfectly.
Ubisoft doesn’t provide crash logs, and I’m completely stuck here.
What happens when you try to launch the game?
Do you get any errors or can you see the game running on task manager or anything sometimes the game will launch in these case but the only thing the register the application launching will be task manger please post back with resaults
Shut down your computer and disconnect the drive using the second copy of Siege, then restart the PC and attempt a clean installation once more.
They are located in the same drive alongside my other games. I reinstalled both again, but it didn't fix the issue. The games run smoothly from the SSD, and I even tried the GPU on another machine, which worked there, but it doesn't work with Siege on my PC.
I figured out the problem.
I’m not sure exactly what it was, but Windows was really damaged, so I checked for updates and tried installing again—it didn’t work. I ran a disk check and repair, and Windows updated successfully. Everything, including the game, is now working properly. I don’t know what Windows was doing to stop the game from starting, but I’m sure it was the cause of the crashes.
Thanks!
