Hi everyone, I'm facing some FPS issues with FIFA 21 on my i5-9400f setup. I have an RTX 2060, 16GB RAM, and a 144Hz G-SYNC monitor. When I play at 144Hz there are noticeable drops—around 143 FPS, about 4-5 times lower than normal, causing a slight stutter. At 120Hz it drops to 119 FPS. I've tried everything: changing G-SYNC settings, using different limits, disabling limits, reinstalling Windows and the game, clearing the origin cache, etc. Just moving from 60Hz to 144Hz seemed smoother, but now 60Hz feels better since the stutter was less obvious. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It's typical for G-Sync to cause a minor dip in frames, around 1-2 FPS, during synchronization. This fluctuation is normal and shouldn't be a concern.

as said above. we can't see the difference between 143 and 144 FPS. your stuff works completely fine, and you probably should turn off the fps counter since it seems to distract you during gameplay

I don't have a gsync monitor. It is a freesync one which is gsync compatible. With freesync on when fps drops from 144 to 143 there is slight stutter along with a brightness flickering. With freesync off when fps drops from 144 to 143 there is a stutter (or you can say a pause or that the game freezes for a few ms) and I can understand it even with the fps counter off.

I run FIFA 21 on a 1440/144 display just like you. My configuration matches yours closely, except I use an i5 10400f instead of the 9400f. I don’t see any noticeable frame drop when switching from 144 to 143. Perhaps at around 10 fps it would be fine. Just stop overthinking and enjoy the game!

Checking your setup: are you using Freesync enabled or disabled? Also, confirming if all NVCP settings remain at their defaults and FIFA is set to 60 FPS.

You're seeing 144 FPS because your setup supports it, but the game only offers 3 preset rates—30, 60, or unlimited. It seems you're using a configuration that allows higher performance, possibly through hardware acceleration or a specific driver setting. Don't worry about not having free-sync; it's just one of the options available.

For 144Hz, it locks to 60fps as per FIFA settings. This is the default screen refresh rate for us. I haven’t set any FPS limits using VSync yet, but the issue remains unchanged.
