My PC specifications are: Intel i5-4460 3.2GHz, a 64-bit operating system, Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB, Seagate Barracuda 1TB and 2TB storage, Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600 C9 2x8GB RAM. I experience a consistent problem occurring in both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Apex Legends – approximately every 10-30 seconds, I encounter severe input lag between my keyboard and mouse inputs and the game. For example, attempting to stop moving results in continued movement in the current direction while my mouse cursor can move freely, preventing accurate aiming or firing. This lag persists throughout gameplay and sometimes causes the game to crash. I have lowered all graphics settings without improvement, seeking assistance in identifying and resolving this issue.

Is the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, or the 2019 version? If you haven't already, try verifying that it only occurs when playing multiplayer. If this is the case, it may be due to your ping experiencing extremely high spikes (such as exceeding 100ms).

The current version is from 2019, and it doesn’t just occur in multiplayer. My ping and server latency never exceeded 30.

Is a 2018 gaming PC with a five-year-old quad core processor and hard disk drives still viable?

What graphics settings (including anti-aliasing) and resolution are you using? The latest version of the game is quite resource intensive.
You will achieve optimal performance in the game with the updated 440.97 driver, specifically designed for it.

My COD:MW installation is located on a new hard drive that’s less than a year old, while my central processing unit is approximately five years old. I maintain it by replacing the thermal paste annually.
