Game PC is acting up?
I've been fighting this for months now, even though I keep trying to post about it recently, nobody really seems to see my posts so I'm going to try posting again hoping someone can help me with this issue. I've had a Gigabyte G5 Gaming Laptop for about two years and it's working pretty much perfectly fine back then and I managed to run all the games that I wanted well during that time but recently there has been this very weird stuttering/fps drops problem and I just can't figure out why. The issue is when I play most of my games they work well for about a couple minutes at most and sometimes not even that long and then after that they start stuttering and freezing up pretty much every second when I'm playing a somewhat graphics intensive game like Destiny 2, Call of Duty MWII, or even a well optimized game like Doom Eternal which always used to run super smoothly before. I've tried checking my performance through software and the only thing I found is that when the fps drops my gpu utilization goes down for that second as well so maybe it's something with that? I've also completely reset my pc so I don't have much software installed right now except steam and my games but it's still doing the same thing after I did all of that which makes me think it might be some kind of hardware problem but I really have no idea what else I could try to fix the problem. Also since this I've opened up my laptop and didn't find much in terms of dust or anything inside that would hinder performance and have uninstalled my old drivers as well and reinstalled the new ones.
Over time, your computer starts to slow down. Since you likely used that old laptop recently, the high temperatures may be hurting the parts inside. The best move now is a fresh Windows start-up on a clean drive. This helps if the problems are caused by software, but even if that doesn't work, here are two paths: keep using it as-is or buy a brand-new laptop.
Yeah, that sounds possible but it only lasted about a year or maybe half a year before this started happening which is pretty wild and I also reset my computer once to try fixing things but that didn't work either if that was what you meant I guess I might just have to deal with it like you said.
If you think this laptop has a very low price tag for good gaming, then having it break isn't really that surprising. This review on the link didn't make me love it as much as I thought. The laptop feels cheap to build, drains its battery fast, gets too hot and makes a loud noise. If you spend peanuts (very little money), you'll get monkeys. No matter how good your hardware is, if it's built that way, it won't last long. That's why there are still lots of people buying more expensive stuff because better things make for a longer life and durability is in high demand.
