Game pauses or hesitations, even when using minimal processing power.
I experience intermittent freezes in games, lasting approximately half a second to one second, regardless of the key being pressed at that moment. This results in perceived teleportation when moving. These freezes occur consistently, but I only recently noticed them impacting my gameplay in competitive games like CS due to frequent deaths. The frequency of these freezes varies greatly, sometimes occurring for hours and other times every few minutes. System resources are minimal—the game is running on a 1TB HDD, with a CPU usage of 30-40% and GPU usage of 40-60%, even on high settings with uncapped FPS. I'm running Steam and Discord, along with no other programs. Temperatures are stable. The issue persists even when the PC is not under significant load. My system specifications include an R5 1600, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws 3200MHz RAM, an Asus Prime B350-Plus motherboard, a 250GB SSD for the OS, and a 1TB HDD for games and recordings. Power is provided by a Corsair CX550M, running Windows 10, with no overclocking.
If the screen isn’t connected via a display port cable, I suggest acquiring one and testing to see if it resolves the issue. Ensure you select compatible fittings.
Previously, the connection was via DP, but with my Rift S and a GPU that only has one DP port, I switched to DVI-D for my monitor. As far as I recall, the hitching issues occurred when using DP as well. I will test to see if switching back to DVI-D resolves the problem.
