Game Not Launching - No Error Alert
Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a CyberPowerPC Gamer Master Gaming PC - Black (AMD Ryzen 7 8700F/16GB RAM/2TB SSD/NVIDIA RTX 4060/Win11) and am facing problems when running one of my games. When attempting to launch it, I encounter a "Preparing Game" message, the screen turns black, and then the system either restarts the launcher or just the desktop.
I've examined both the Event Viewer and the Reliability Monitor, but no crash is being recorded. I've also tested the game across all compatibility settings without success. The game was released in 2008 and originally had lower requirements. Other titles from that era are functioning properly.
Any suggestions?
if the problem is limited to one game among several, then the issue likely lies with that specific game rather than the system itself. check the game's integrity via the provider you bought it from. also, install any redistributables found in the game folder, typically labeled as "Redist" or "common redist".
The game appears to confirm correctly. I located the Redist folder containing a VDF File named "installscript". The standard tool to launch it is Notepad, which also displays ReadMe.txt for the game. Should I paste the content from "installscript" into that file?
but there are no redistributable files to install?
this would be installation packages for codecs, vc++, directx, etc.?
Here is the name of the game. That would assist if someone who has been there decided to repair it.
Here are the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages.
Download both 64-bit and 32-bit versions.
Install the 64-bit first, then restart and perform the 32-bit restart to check if the game functions properly.
When launching the game, right-click the .exe file and run it with administrator privileges.
The only source I discovered confirming it works for PC is that one. When using the Windows capability tool, right-click the .exe file for the game and select the compatibility option. Pick the version that supports older operating systems and proceed accordingly. Also, the 32-bit version should be linked with the x86 architecture.
