I recently acquired a new computer and have been utilizing it almost daily for the last five months, but now I’m encountering problems. Initially, I performed a complete system reset to address insufficient storage space, opting not to manually sort through my files. Following the reset, I reinstalled all necessary software and considered the issue resolved. However, upon attempting to play Watchdog, the game froze for an hour while I was away, and when I returned, it crashed immediately. Uplay did not generate any reports regarding the crashes; they simply occurred repeatedly – sometimes freezing, other times crashing without warning. I experienced similar issues with Homefront: Revolution and Men of War Assault Squad 2, with the latter presenting an “Unable to Swap Chain” error after several attempts. Rainbow Six Siege exhibited a different symptom: flickering graphics, and when running the benchmark, it froze and crashed. I purchased The Division 2 with the hope that it would function properly, but experienced freezing and crashing specifically during character customization, accompanied by a report sent to Ubisoft. Frustrated with the recurring issues, I attempted another system reset and reinstalled my graphics drivers, which unfortunately did not improve the situation. Further testing with MSI Kombustor 4 and MSI Afterburner revealed flickering during benchmarking, although my temperatures remained within acceptable limits (61 degrees Celsius). When I exited the benchmark, my entire computer became sluggish. As a workaround, Minecraft ran flawlessly with mods. I'm now seeking assistance to determine if this is related to my drivers, GPU, hardware, or perhaps an incompatibility with my older 1366x768 resolution LG monitor.
