You recently reinstalled PC and began from scratch. Downloaded several games, but most failed to load after launching. The first thing that appears is an error message about the missing file "XINPUTI_3.dll." Before this happened, you confirmed all drivers were up to date and installed the latest Windows updates. Your system specs include Windows 7 64-bit, an i5 3570, 8GB DDR3 RAM, GTX 970 graphics card, and a Seagate 1TB drive for Steam games. Thanks for your assistance!

Have you attempted a restart? You might have, though it's hard to remember sometimes. People often overlook this step. After cleaning, did you erase all data from both storage devices? Did you perform a complete system reinstall or just manually remove files?

XINPUT deals with device drivers, meaning the game attempts to reach that file for compatibility but fails. Has the cache been verified? Is it available across all titles or only specific ones?

It could be an issue with the DirectX setup. Restart it and see if that helps. If you're mainly playing indie games, DX might not be needed unless you launch a major title. Trying a AAA game often triggers DX installation automatically at startup.

New installation on a fresh, clean second drive. Restarting didn't help much.
