Game issues occur frequently with computer crashes and operating system problems.
Hey, over the last couple of weeks my PC keeps freezing whenever I launch a game. The crashes happen even when I play for long periods—sometimes an hour and a half, other times not at all. My hardware specs are pretty solid: 3070 FE processor, 550MHz clock, 64GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz, 850W Gold PSP, 5900x RAM. I’ve checked temperatures, usage stats, adjusted FPS, tweaked settings, rolled back and reinstalled drivers, updated everything, switched off eco-mode and overclocking, and even swapped out the thermal paste a few days ago. Nothing changed physically except that I applied the new paste to test. Usually my games crash or freeze, and I sometimes see a blue screen too. My friends can’t join our sessions anymore because they can’t connect after each round. Here’s the Fortnite crash code you shared. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Examine Microsoft Event Viewer once the game crashes (occasionally if you're lucky and during a full moon it can display the status code that could assist). This might be the root reason for your crashes. It could stem from drivers or Windows issues (though faulty hardware is rare). For clearer insight, try the "bluescreenview" app (an older but useful tool). It reveals the bluescreen error code and faulty drivers, helping you grasp the problem better. https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
Visit C:\Windows\Minidump and verify the presence of any minidump files. If found, return to the Windows directory and transfer the entire Minidump folder to the Downloads folder (use your desktop if OneDrive isn't available). Compress the copied folder and include it in a post. Please adhere strictly to the guidelines provided by Windows.
Check the bluescreen view you're seeing and follow the on-screen instructions. If the issue persists, try restarting your system or updating your drivers.
Device issues and memory errors often signal old or mismatched drivers, hardware conflicts, or RAM problems. A colleague suggested removing your video drivers via DDU and reinstalling them. My next recommendation is to verify your memory usage using a tool from https://www.memtest86.com/. You can create a bootable USB with instructions at https://www.memtest86.com/tech_creating-window.html. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, the only remaining step is to inspect Windows settings.
