Game issues are causing performance problems.
Hello everyone, I've been searching for answers on various forums but haven't found a solution yet. This is my first time posting, and it concerns an issue I'm facing with my new computer. A few weeks ago, I purchased all the components and assembled it myself. My goal was to have a machine that could handle games at ultra settings with smooth 50-60 frames per second. Before diving into the problem details, I wanted to mention that I encountered a similar situation on another machine I had a year prior. While not ideal, some titles ran fine at low settings, but I still faced the same challenges today. After installing drivers and necessary software, I started playing games like League of Legends, Runescape, Minecraft, Counter Strike Global Offensive, and Bioshock 2. Immediately, I noticed the games weren't running smoothly. Moving the mouse caused noticeable stuttering, whereas pressing keys kept everything fluid. I thought it was an FPS issue, so I tried Fraps, which showed all games at 60 fps (v-sync on) or over 100 fps (v-sync off) at maximum settings. I then reduced graphics quality, which helped slightly but not enough. Games on YouTube and Twitch also had similar problems. It seemed like the frames were jumping or fluctuating, making it hard to explain. I don’t have any clear clues—my PC specs look pretty standard. I’ve attached screenshots of my GPU and CPU status while gaming and idle. If anyone has insights or knows what might be causing this, please let me know. I’m eager for your help and hope we can resolve this quickly.
Memory consumption for the graphics card can reach 1 GB occasionally, especially during gameplay I referenced
Verify the card's clock speed to ensure it's improving under stress rather than running at a minimal pace; if not, consider replacing the card.
Core speed is approximately 135 MHz during gameplay, while the memory clock sits near 170 MHz.
Based on the temperatures you're experiencing, it might be thermal throttling, leading to noticeable stuttering when performance changes rapidly. Try running an AIDA 64 Stress Tess for about an hour and share a screenshot of the results. Also, let me know if your PC crashes during the test.
135 MHz. Jesus. Most cards work at 10 times that rate. Double-check your info, because this sounds unrealistic for playing GTA 5 on 60 FPS.
Check the HD if it spins at 5400rpm—it might indicate an issue. Auto-updating programs can cause problems, so try fixing that. A CMOS reset could assist. You may need to uninstall the graphics driver or reboot and let Windows install it automatically. It seems you might have allowed auto-installation instead of a manual setup. Usually, the low numbers mean the driver wasn’t installed properly while the card was under stress. What power supply are you using?
We have the image of the system running idle, do you want to know about in-game clock speeds?
