Game isn't running on a dedicated GPU in the laptop.
I downloaded "Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus" onto my gaming laptop - an Asus Tuf FX505DT equipped with a Ryzen 5 3550H and integrated Vega graphics, plus a dedicated GTX 1650 GPU. Whenever I attempt to launch the game, I encounter the error "Could not write crash dump." After searching online, I found many fixes. One video suggested turning off my integrated graphics. Since my display still functioned through the dedicated GPU, I dismissed that idea. After two weeks without progress, I gave up on the game. A month later, I tried a different approach: I connected my laptop to a TV via HDMI and disabled the integrated Vega graphics. The game launched smoothly, indicating the issue was with the integrated GPU. I then turned off the integrated graphics while using the laptop's display, and surprisingly, it ran at normal speed. When I tried again with the dedicated graphics, it still worked but at a slower 4FPS. I'm really frustrated and need guidance to fix this properly. Thanks for your help!
Adjust your usage settings in the nvidia control panel by navigating to "3d settings." You can configure your laptop to consistently use the discrete GPU or apply varying configurations for specific applications.
There are no changes yet. Your Asus FX505 works better with a monitor because it doesn’t use the iGPU, but performance drops when using the laptop’s screen. Let me know if you need more tips!
