Game halts unexpectedly during play.
I recently replaced the GPU and RAM with a PowerColor Fighter RX 7600 and a 32GB Patriot Viper Elite II. The rest of the system includes a Ryzen 5 5500, an ASUS Prime B450 M-A II, and Corsair CX 750W. After the upgrade, my PC shut down unexpectedly twice during gameplay (not due to high temperatures or heavy usage), the screen would go black without a blue screen or error, but the mouse, keyboard, and fans remained active. It would attempt to restart automatically, though it displayed graphics card error codes. Once I powered it back on after resetting the PSU, everything worked normally again. The Event Viewer showed no relevant entries, only a boot issue without proper shutdown. I’ve been playing Fortnite and Jedi Survivor for hours without any problems. I’m still trying to figure out what caused this.
Usually only overheating or power supply issues are considered. If temperatures look normal, I’d focus on the power supply. Still, make sure you mark each step—starting with DDU and updating drivers—to verify everything is functioning properly.
