Game GR Wildland plays poorly now.
I have an AMD FX 8350 processor, GTX 1060 6G graphics card, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and a Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 motherboard. Previously, I achieved approximately 40-50 fps on GR Wildland at the High setting. After upgrading to Windows 10 and installing recent updates and drivers, I experienced occasional BSODs while playing low-resource games or browsing. Despite updating all drivers and ensuring system stability, I can no longer play GR Wildland, consistently receiving around 20 fps with significant stuttering regardless of the graphics settings. Given my previous performance, I seek an explanation for this issue. Could game updates have introduced a compatibility problem? I request troubleshooting advice regarding this specific problem.
Map textures loading slowly and hitching after launching the game were consistently problematic. Vehicle sounds, including doors, engines, and closures, would not play immediately upon launch, requiring movement of 20-50 feet before activation. The map took 30 seconds or more to draw without blur upon initial loading. Gameplay hitches were noticeable during the first few minutes, particularly while traveling at speed in helicopters.
Thanks. Yeah I didn't do a clean install, upgraded from W7. I'll consider reinstalling from scratch...
I'm on build 1909 so i guess the latest.
I'll keep looking.
The problem is probably from your bad Windows install, but I've also had worse performance in Wildlands as well. The game maxes out my CPU all the time, causing it to stutter. Apparently, that's from a bad DRM, but I didn't have as many problems until recently.
The following text details troubleshooting steps taken to improve performance in the game *Gerhard: Rise of the Raven*, specifically addressing map loading issues, vehicle sound problems, and overall hitching. The author’s goal was to complete the game on Extreme difficulty with no HUD or skill upgrades. Initially plagued by slow map textures, delayed vehicle sounds, and noticeable hitches during gameplay, particularly when flying, the author sought a solution through hardware upgrades – specifically an NVMe drive – which significantly reduced these problems. The clarity of the in-game map served as a reliable indicator for potential hitching, allowing the player to fast travel to mitigate issues. While some minor hitching persisted during longer flights, overall performance was markedly improved. The author suggests a texture preload option would be beneficial and emphasizes the importance of draw distance settings alongside hardware capabilities. This guide showcases unconventional tactics proven effective through extensive experimentation—nearly three months of development—and provides full mission routes with an average completion time under 10 minutes, encompassing content from both the base game and the *Inca Camina* and *Media Luna* DLCs. Thanks guys.
So i've tried to shut down uplay overlay while playing, i seem to get more constant FPS around 29-30. But nothing really playable still.
I've decided it's not worth the hassle and it was time for an upgrade of CPU etc.
It should work better on the new system
PS: well done on beating the game like that
Thanks, keep us updated on how things go with GRW when you get the new hardware upgrades. Maybe post a vid or two!
😉
