Game froze while playing CoD Warzone.
Game froze while playing CoD Warzone.
I’m playing CoD Warzone about two to three days ago. Early in a session I experienced a freeze, everything stopped, and the game closed automatically. The taskbar was still there but the icons disappeared. My PC remained frozen, so I restarted it using the reset button on the case.
My system specs are: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, Pallet RTX 3070, GamingPro MB, 16 GB RAM at 3200 MHz, HDD, Toshiba P300 1 TB SSD, Intel 660P 512 GB M.2, PSU 750W, cooling system, Asus ROG Ryujin 240 with Artic MX4 paste. The PC is over a year old and has handled similar games without problems. Someone mentioned my PC would freeze and unfreeze within about 30 seconds after a CoD Warzone crash. I didn’t wait that time and restarted immediately, so I’m unsure if this is the same issue or something different.
It was only on the very first day I set up CoD Warzone, and after adjusting my graphics settings, the game crashed again. From then on, I thought it might be a small glitch in the game itself.
However, the freeze was unusual, which is why I had to upload it somewhere. The game froze even when Discord was running in the background, and the PC remained frozen as well. It seems only the mouse cursor could move, while everything else stayed stuck—key combinations didn’t work either.
Consider reducing the game configurations slightly to observe the effect. It might be a recent update, so results can vary. Use a monitoring tool like HWMonitor on another display to check temperatures during freezes.
Usually when it freezes I can't open anything—just move the cursor, can't press alt or open tabs to inspect, and my settings get reduced too. Textures are at maximum, but effects like shadows, ambient occlusion, and depth-of-field are lowered to reduce input lag. I’ll try opening HWMonitor in the background and see if that helps. Also, I’m not sure if the problem is related to their recent patches. I had two updates in three days while playing, so I’m new to this.
