Hey there, I'm trying to set up a new PC for playing Ark and have a few queries. First, is Ark designed for SLI setups? Second, do I really need over 16 GB of RAM? Lastly, does Ark prefer faster processors such as the 7700K or more cores like the 6850K? Thanks for your assistance!

For SLI setups, larger file sizes are acceptable. Regarding processors, more cores seem to be the preferable choice.

It’s a poorly made game. My 4.5 GHz processor, 32 GB RAM, and an Intel Core i7-1070 chip aren’t enough to handle it smoothly.

Game keeps dropping frames, pacing problems appear, and glitches are quite severe. Even with my high-end hardware, the graphics don’t look good. I purchased it on Steam just to test it, but it turned into a chaotic mess, leading to a refund.

I secured it at a discount while using an AMD chip and an R7 370, achieving smooth performance with around 20 frames per second recently.

I've made it into the top two with my FPS in the 20s, while most Ark players aren't great.

Ark performs poorly on any platform due to its early access status. Consider waiting until Ryzen is available before purchasing a new PC, especially if you're building from scratch. What budget are you planning? You mentioned a 6700K at 4.5ghz, but with Titan X Max 1080p settings, it shouldn't drop below 40fps.

New budget setup is 5k, but moving to water-cooled loop. You're right about AMD.
