Game fails to launch properly, causing frequent crashes during startup.
Hey everyone! I've been facing the same problem where Forza Horizon 5 keeps crashing whenever I try to launch it on Steam. When it starts, I see this message: "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." It seems completely unrelated to any strange error codes I've seen in Chrome, like "STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION" or "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT." My PC also keeps showing BSOD errors such as "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" and "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL." Right away I thought it might be a RAM issue, but the codes could also point to Windows problems. Since it's been a while since I did a clean install, I decided to reinstall. It worked until the Windows update tried to run. When I upgraded to version 20H2, I ran into an error during the upgrade. I tried different drives, replaced RAM sticks, and even bought new ones, but the issue persisted. Once I got the latest updates and installed Steam, everything seemed fine except for the same crash when launching. I've checked all the possible fixes and still can't find a solution. This game is the only one that won't boot properly. Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas or tips would be super helpful! Thanks.
Robin
Updated on my thread, Windows 11 is now installed yet the issue persists. I tried downgrading the NVIDIA drivers but it didn’t help. The odd thing is it’s the only Forza Horizon 5 that causes problems—specifically, it crashes right after you tap "Welcome" when you press continue.
Visit C:\Windows\Minidump to see if any minidump files exist. If present, return to the Windows directory and transfer the Minidump folder to the Downloads folder (use your desktop if needed). Compress the copied folder and include it in a post. Please adhere strictly to instructions since Windows doesn't allow file changes there.
