My gaming laptop, an HP Pavilion Gaming with an i5-8300 processor, a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card, and 8GB of DDR4 RAM, is experiencing significant performance issues. I purchased it just two days ago. In Fortnite, my frames dropped dramatically from 160 to around 20-30, and I’m also encountering severe lag in FIFA 19. This is extremely frustrating. Could you please assist me? I also have an UHD Graphics 630 as a secondary graphics card.

Could you please share your display settings? Additionally, could you provide information regarding the temperature and workload of your processor and graphics card?

My usual body temperature is 98.6°F without gaming. However, when I play Fortnite, it rises to 98°F. My computer’s processor reaches a frequency of 39.0 GHz, operating at approximately 99.8 MHz with temperatures of 73°C for Core 0 (APIC ID: 0, 1), 69°C for Core 1 (APIC ID: 2, 3), 67°C for Core 2 (APIC ID: 4, 5), and 67°C for Core 3 (APIC ID: 6, 7).

The temperatures appear acceptable. The decrease in frames per second might be due to insufficient memory, a low speed, or background processes. Please examine your task manager.
