I possess a high-end i7-4790k at 4.8ghz, with two 8GB modules boosted to 2133mhz. The RTX 2060 EVGA KO Ultra is fully overclocked (+100 cores, +800MB). System runs smoothly in other titles without stutter. In Fortnite it falters—stutters even at performance mode and lowest settings. FPS caps around 120, often dropping to about 30 FPS during movement. It remains playable but isn’t ideal. I’ve removed all overclocks yet the issue persists. A clean build didn’t fix it either. My PC should handle Fortnite well, as seen in a recent 10100f + 1050 Ti benchmark with no stutter and stable FPS on low settings. I own a 1050 Ti unit; when I used it, it stuttered more than the RTX but not in other games. I usually run few background tasks, keeping GPU and CPU temps below 80°C during Fortnite. My 1050 Ti stayed under 70°C throughout testing. Detailed specs: 4790k core @4.8ghz @1.325v, cache @4.4ghz @1.2v, Patriot Viper III DDR3 1866, 2x8GB RAM (stock timings 10-11-10-30, 1.5v, 1866mhz). Manual overclock: 13-13-12-36 timings, 1.6v, 2133mhz. EVGA RTX 2060 KO Ultra with two Arctic P12 fans, +100 cores, +800MB. Motherboard: ASUS Z97-C, VRM fan, Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD (250GB), WD Green 4TB (2.5TB). Running Windows 10 22H2; latest OS not installed due to download problems.

I possess a high-end i7-4790k at 4.8ghz, with dual 8GB RAM boosted to 2133MHz, an overclocked RTX 2060 EVGA KO Ultra at +100 cores and 800MB memory. The setup runs smoothly across other titles without issues. However, Fortnite causes noticeable lag—especially when moving or interacting—dropping to around 30 FPS for a brief moment. While playable, it falls short of expectations. I've removed all overclocks yet still experience similar stutters. My PC should support Fortnite well, as seen in a recent 10100f + 1050 Ti benchmark showing smooth performance at low settings. I own a 1050 Ti system with stable temps under 80°C during Fortnite play. My detailed specs include the motherboard, RAM, GPU, and case, all running optimally.

It seems Fortnite's switch to Unreal Engine 5 has caused compatibility issues with older systems. Performance drops significantly on newer hardware, making it nearly unplayable on my 3rd gen i7 and causing noticeable lag on my Xeon workstation. The game’s optimization is impressive, but the trade-off is a less-than-smooth experience.
