Recently, a friend recommended we try playing some old cod 4, which turned out to be fun. After short sessions—about 5 to 6 minutes—the game would freeze briefly before restarting repeatedly until I closed it via Task Manager. I’m curious why this happens with that particular game. I have an Intel Core i5 760, a GTX 450 graphics card, and 8 GB of RAM. I don’t think I’m overloading them. The GPU usage seems unusual too.

Only in Cod4, not elsewhere. Are there other tougher games you might run for comparison? It might be due to a corrupted installation or mod problems on a modded server. Could be lag or performance issues rather than just FPS.

It's only in that game. I play most other titles like Batman: Assassins Creed and Watch Dogs well on low settings, achieving around 60fps. For that one, I even pushed it to stock speeds of 783 (usually around 898 with 1.1v). The game feels solid, the servers seem genuine, and I was curious if it was my system or the game causing issues. Thanks for helping!

It seems like you're discussing a situation where only one game is performing poorly, suggesting the issue might lie with the game itself. If the problem occurred in other games, the fault could shift to the drivers or hardware.
