I'm making the switch from my current laptop to a gaming desktop and want to see the impact on power and experience, but I can't compare them directly.
The Unigame Heaven benchmarking gives raw data, but it doesn’t show real-world results.
Which type of program would create a noticeable and meaningful performance gap?

Consider trying Metro Exodus, Last Light, Tomb Raider (the latest), or Ghost Recon Wildlands...

For accurate measurements, consider using Cinebench R15 and Unigine Superposition. Regarding games, Skyrim Classic performs well on GPU, Arma 3 suits testing CPU single-threaded performance due to its heavy reliance on one thread, and GTA 5 is suitable for evaluating both. Emulators such as Dolphin and PJ64 are effective for assessing RAM latency because they involve numerous operations in system RAM, while TW3 on Ultra provides a challenging environment.

Execute Firestrike and Timespy. Analyze the outcomes for both devices during these tests.

Planetside 2 requires a lot of CPU power. This gives you a sense of what to expect in that area.

There are several options available, such as utilizing the benchmark tool from this site. This tool offers a simple and user-friendly way to enhance your system and provides a useful score for comparing different systems. You can also rely on benchmarks included with the game, like Total War: Warhammer or Mass Effect: Andromeda paired with Afterburner. Additionally, you might consider using the Kombustor GPU benchmark in conjunction with Afterburner.
