Game crashes or system restarts often happen after extended play sessions on a new setup.
Hey everyone, just upgraded from a 2070 Super and set up my new PC. In my first gaming session, I managed to play Fortnite for about 20 minutes before the system crashed. After restarting, it took me even less time to face the same issue. XMP is active on my DDR5 RAM too. I'm seeking advice—should I stick with these games or try something else? I've already spent a lot of time building and troubleshooting, thinking I'd already solved it. Update: Running OCCT didn't reveal any problems. After playing Forza 5 for roughly 20-30 minutes, I encountered another black screen and had to reboot again. My temperatures stayed under 75°C with the temps displayed. Any suggestions? I've updated both my motherboard BIOS and drivers on my 7900xtx. Build link: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/kw258215/s...iew=yCwXf7
did you remove all the old drivers from nvidia after joining team red? have you verified if your ram speed is affecting system stability? also, check ryzen master to see if it can identify any errors—adrenaline’s auto overclock feature still has some issues; try building one yourself but only if you’re confident. in a rare scenario, your psu might be the problem—hope you figure out what’s going on.
Danner, focus on key areas for improvement. After a 45-minute Fortnite session without crashes, your XMP settings are off. For the stress test tomorrow, check how performance drops compared to using XMP enabled. Estimate the impact based on typical settings and game demands.
Perform a broad RAM check using Memtest 86 with the standard four passes (roughly six hours on a 32GB system). Check Event Viewer under System logs for any crash reasons—filter for Critical or Error events. Absence of such entries usually points to power supply issues.
Ran Memtest86 and received a clean pass on all four tests. I noticed some unexpected reboots in the event log. According to online sources, this issue is often linked to the Radeon7900 XTX chip. I just performed a fresh driver install, but now I'm planning to swap out the GPU and go back to team green. Despite having a tech background, I find it frustrating to constantly adjust settings or troubleshoot at this price level.
