I recently put GTA 5 on Epic Games store after adjusting graphics to 1080p high. When I joined an online server, the game stopped after just five minutes. After restarting, it still crashed immediately. I checked the temperatures with the Radeon overlay—CPU and GPU were normal around 65°C—but RAM and VRAM usage changed strangely. At first, VRAM was about 2GB and RAM about 3-4GB, but after starting online, both jumped to 7.8-8GB, then the game would crash or the PC would freeze, requiring a forced shutdown. I tried lowering graphics to 720p low, but it didn’t help. The issue seems linked to my Radeon driver. I reinstalled the video driver, verified other drivers, and updated them, yet the crashes continued even at lower settings. What causes this problem? Is there a fix or solution?

It could be overheating. Your older parts may need servicing. Replace your CPU and GPU, clean the fan filters. You might want to add a hardware monitor such as Openhardware or CPUID HWMonito to track temperatures. Also, from a CPU perspective, you're only using the suggested settings—boosting graphics could be risky given how poorly optimized GTA V is.

They mentioned temperatures near 65°C, and any extreme heat could lead to the whole system failing, not just the game stopping. It seems like a memory leak might be the issue. Can you test the Steam edition of the game?
