Hello everyone, this is my first time here and I need some assistance fixing my computer. While gaming, the system becomes extremely slow and stops responding until I keep pressing the power button to shut it down. At that point, the screen remains frozen with audio stuck, and both the mouse and keyboard stop working. This issue started regularly after about 10 minutes of gameplay.

Details about my setup:
- Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6 cores, 3.7 GHz)
- Graphics Card: ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B550-I
- Power Supply: Corsair SF Series, 600W, fully modular, 80+ Gold certified
- RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series, 32GB (2x16GB), DDR4 3600
- Recent changes: Swapped PSU and SSD in 2022 and 2023

Timeline of events:
- October 2021: Built PC
- September 2022: First freezing incident
- February 2023: After SSD swap, issue continued
- May 2023: After GPU swap, problem resumed
- July 2023: Freezing again, plus BSOD appeared
- Recent: BSOD observed with freezing, possible driver update cause

I’ve tried several fixes—rollbacks, reinstalls, BIOS updates, driver updates, and even ran stress tests. Memtest86 showed one RAM stick failed, but OCCT tests revealed CPU, memory, and power stability issues. I’m still experiencing freezes despite these attempts.

What should I do next? Are there additional tests I can perform or specific hardware components I could replace? Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

Your PC might need more power than it currently provides. ASUS suggests using a 750-watt supply for your GPU, while your setup has a 600-watt one.

You caught me! The details were there on the specs page, but the recommendation changed based on your components. It suggests around 550W with overclocking disabled. The PCPartPicker estimate is lower, below 400W. Whether it's worth a more powerful PSU depends on your needs and budget.

I don't understand why it doesn't consider power surges, which some RTX 30 cards were known for. I thought that was what the 750 watt rating represented, since the 3060TI isn't that power-hungry. Aside from possible bad hardware, my PC actually stopped once before because of damaged system files. You can check this with a command in powershell or command prompt (run as admin). sfc /scannow It never happened again after the scan found and fixed the corrupted files. I run this check at least once a week, especially after a Windows update, because updates can sometimes mess up files on both regular and professional versions of Windows.

Wow, the scan detected successful repairs for some corrupted files. I thought a clean Windows install would be free of issues, but it turned out otherwise. I shared a copy of the CBS log. Also, in Reliability Monitor there’s frequent "Controls the DTS audio processing object" event. I updated my audio drivers, but that didn’t resolve the problem. I attached a screenshot of that event.

Yeah, I haven’t checked the logs yet, but finding corrupted files even after a clean Windows install proves you can’t rely on any update to avoid mistakes. On the enterprise version this isn’t an issue. Most regular users probably stick to the pro edition at best. I hope this resolved the freezing problem.

Unfortunately it seems the issue persists despite previous fixes. Memtest86 still shows errors but freezes before finishing, and the OCCT Power stress test also freezes. It appears the problem might be related to the CPU or MOBO, which also explains why swapping other components didn’t fully resolve it. I’ll start by swapping the RAM and then attempt a rebuild using a new MOBO, CPU, and 750W power supply if needed.
