I think it means I’m checking things first and then putting them back in just in case. But I know how few people do that. I don’t have the chance to test on someone else’s system, but I have an old AMD card with an RX 580 chip—don’t expect many games to run smoothly. GTA should work, so I’ll give it a shot. I also have HWInfo handy.
You're mainly checking if the smoothness issues persist no matter the frame rate. It could be slow, but if you notice a steady stutter similar to the 4070, it's likely the GPU is the main problem.
Thanks for the update. I discovered an old RX580 and plan to test it out. All the others I sold. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to a friend’s PC to try them. I’ve only noticed it in gaming, and ID doesn’t work well across all games—though a few that aren’t too demanding still run fine. I’ll experiment with another slot and lower the clock speed to see how it performs. I can also check my old PSU to rule out that as the problem.
Interesting! Have you checked for any shared game engines like Unity, Unreal, or similar? It seems like we're dealing with basic tools here. Could your antivirus or Windows Defender be interfering? It might help to disable them temporarily. These titles don't appear to have anti-cheat systems that could be the problem. @191x7 tip on updating your motherboard BIOS and GPU firmware is wise.
I just updated the SSD for backup purposes. I didn’t change the GPU BIOS, and everything has been running smoothly so I didn’t consider updating it either. The MOBO BIOS is up to date but not the newest version, yet it’s working perfectly without any issues.
The only apparent issue is the power deviation accuracy, which ranged from 42.6% to 136.2%. All other aspects appear standard.
Regarding BIOS, have you attempted to reset the default configurations? Did you change any settings in BIOS recently? Have you upgraded the BIOS last week? If you're using HWInfo64, do you also have CrystalDiskInfo installed?
Here are all the sensors in hwinfo64 during this event. It might be tricky to interpret without prior knowledge, but you’ll see them clearly. The power deviation indicator is not useful unless every CPU core is operating at maximum capacity. Regarding stutters or freezes, they typically occur when system resources become constrained, causing delays in processing tasks.
